Yet again I started the new year wanting to lose weight. This is a pattern I have followed for the last 5 years or more. I start off the new year eating sensibly, exercising well and come the end of the year, I am back to square one.
Last year I lost over 2 stones, looked great and felt great, yet here I am again in the same boat. So, I have decided 2009 is the year I am going to break the chain and stick at something.
I’m not really restricting myself a great deal, I am only cutting calories by about 150-200 a day but am ensuring I am eating the right kinds of foods – I lost weight last year eating around 1800 calories so I know this works.
I went to the gym and did a full body weight workout. Started off with 5 minutes cycling to warm up, before starting my weights.
Leg Press – 90kg 10/10/8
Leg Curl – 45kg 10/8/8
Chest Press – 25kg 12/10/10
Lat Pulldown – 45kg 8/8/8
Upper Back – 20kg 12/10/10
Upright Row – 15kg 12/10/10
Lower Back – 40kg 10/10/10
Ab Curls on fitball – 12/12/12
