I haven't seen Lisa since March which was just after I started slimming down so she was shocked when she saw me lastnight. It's so good meeting up with people who haven't seen me since I was such a heffer as it's nice to see the shock on their faces - it also gives me a boost and helps me to carry on doing what I'm doing.
When we got to the O2 I was surprised to see it is smaller than the last O2 venue. True to form, you couldn't walk without sticking to the carpet and you have to fight your way to the bar but the atmosphere was good and people seemed in good spirits. I had a beer while we waited for the support band to come on and found a spot that wasn't in the throng as Mr JAG was feeling apprehensive about being in the middle of the mayhem and getting soaked in beer. So, we stood behind the sound man's booth and had a pretty good view. Not a splash of beer landed on us either - hurrah!
I have to admit though a few times, I wanted to get in the middle of all the craziness and jump around. It's probably the most restrained I have ever been at a Shambles gig.
I was pleasantly surprised to see such a varied age range lastnight - I even saw a couple of guys who looked to be in their late 60's early 70's - woohoo! They were all singing along and nodding their heads along to the music and appeared to be enjoying themselves.
I didn't take any pictures as I forgot my camera and the camera on my phone isn't brilliant quality. I did however, record a couple of videos though the sound quality isn't great. I'm going to post them for you anyway, just incase you're interested!
I Wish
The Man Who Came To Stay
Pipedown
Fuck Forever - a brilliant finale!
Whenever I go to a gig, the most I ever buy myself is a programme so I decided I was going to get myself an early Christmas present and get a t-shirt. There were so many nice ones but I chose the one where he looks the prettiest.
All in all, we had an awesome night and the Shambles were on top form. I also have a new found appreciation for the amazingly hot bass player, Drew McConnell. I've always thought he was a bit phwoar but he was really on fire lastnight and I was probably more drawn to him than I was Peter at the start!
A gratuitous Drew picture!
Yum!
Do you go to many gigs? Who has been your favourite performer live?

I am such a dweeb, I have only ever been to THREE concerts in my life, two were 2 big gigs they have most years in Slane (just outside Dublin), Robbie Williams one year and Stereophonics a few years later. I only went to the latter because the guy I had just started seeing asked me and I thought if I said no he'd take that as me not being interested in him...7 years later we're still together so I suppose it was worth enduring a sh1t gig. Saw Coldplay the following year and they were a-ma-zing, but I'm such a lazy old fart I never bother going to gigs now. Boyfriend seems to go see the Killers and U2 every fricking year!!
Where did you buy that lovely shirt?
Hahahaha if I thought that was the real Peter I'd have such a fit!
Deise, my mum is a massive Coldplay fan but I have to say, I can't bear them - they bore me stupid and I always say if I was to commit suicide, they would be my choice in background music hahaha!
The Killers I would love to see though, I bet they are brilliant live!
