Early night is calling…

So I am going to post a quick food update and take my tired ass up to bed with my book and a glass of red wine. I don’t normally drink very much and especially not mid week but just lately, I have really re-discovered my taste for good red wine – I just can’t resist it!
I have half written my review of the fab Sony wireless walkman and will give that a post of it’s own tomorrow so be sure to check back.
Today has been relatively stress free though I suffered with the worst headache at work this morning and even 3 paracetamol didn’t help to clear it. It was one of those awful headaches that came with wave after wave of nausea but thankfully, lunch made by my lovely mum helped to get rid of that.
If you want to read about an incredible achievement, you must check out Anna’s blog – she just completed her first ever Iron Man – that is a 3.8km swim, a 180km hilly bike ride and a full marathon. She completed in 13 hours and 20 minutes and is officially my new hero. Check out her race report here.
Food today has been delicious and it’s the first day in a while that I’ve actually eaten well and not included any crap – hurrah!
Breakfast was an amazing bowl of mocha porridge topped with Greek yoghurt, fresh strawberries & blackberries, pecans and a little melted coconut butter…
Mid morning I had a skimmed latte without the two satsumas I had planned as I forgot to take them to work – d’oh!
Lunch was not photographed as I ate it with my folks but my mum made me a delicious cheese & tomato sandwich on wholemeal bread.
Mid afternoon, I was peckish and snacked on an double chocolate MP Max Elle Virtue Bar - I’m gutted as it was my last one :-(
Dinner was frickin’ amazing. I had some venison burgers and beef with garden herb burgers in the freezer crying out to be used. I picked up a couple of seeded ciabatta with olive oil baguettes, sliced one in half and served one of each burgers on each half with some red onion cooked on the griddle pan. I served them with salad and some home made wedges…
After dinner I was craving something sweet and rather than eat crap, I made a bowl of banana soft serve with some cacao powder and topped with blackberries…
And now I’m going to bed – g’night bloggies!

Anna is amazing isn’t she? I’m lucky enough to have met her a couple of times and have shared an Italian meal as we live quite close to each other :-)
think this was her 2nd Ironman, she did one in Florida in May with Sexysuzie. They were awesome then as well!
Hey mate, she is really inspirational. I’m pretty sure the one in Florida was just a half iron man though – at least, I thought it was. I remember reading Suzie’s report on WLR feeling utterly amazed.
The only WLR person I’ve met is JellyMint who was so lovely :D
I’ve met Penny a couple of times and splinterelf. Both great fun…from what I can remember!

Those burgers look bloody gorgeous!
I had a red wine last night first time in months!
Anna did good, I was following her all day and after her bike I felt sick at the thought of her having running a marathon after all that! First 10k 55 mins…what a caahh! awesome
Wow, your dinner does look delicious! I’m going to check out Anna’a blog shortly.
