Goals for 2012

Posted at 11:45 in Personal

Goal setting is important at any time of the year and luckily for me, I’m strong willed and determined and therefore don’t need the start of a new year to motivate me to make changes – it’s a never ending cycle of setting goals, hitting them, re-assessing and setting new ones.

However, sometimes it pays to look long term and think about what you want to achieve, especially with fitness goals.

So, I thought about what I’d like to achieve ideally in 2012 and this is what I came up with:

DIET:

To continue eating a primal (preferably paleo) diet
To continue intermittent fasting (this is with me for life!)
To include more variety in my diet, especially fruit and vegetables

FITNESS:

150kg deadlift
100kg squat (below parallel, preferably ATG)
BW bench press
10 unassisted chins/pull ups

PERSONAL:

To oil pull for a minimum of 10 minutes EVERY day, preferably 20 minutes
To write my blog more frequently

And there they are – my goals for 2012. Simple, straight forward and, I believe, achievable.

ARE YOU SETTING GOALS FOR 2012? IF SO, WHAT ARE THEY?

Good luck! I’m going by month-by-month goals this year – hoping to hit them, no, make that PLANNING on hitting them!

BP body weight is one of my goals, too, but I’m a long way off.

I just posted my goals for next year on my blog. In short, I want to make better food choices, run more (maybe even a half marathon), add some strength training to my routine, and save some money.
Good luck on your goals! Let’s make 2012 an awesome year!

Just found your blog. You have done really well to get into the shape you are in now!
I just started my blog myself and hope to get back into shape after an injury kept me from doing exercise for 6 months.

Good luck with your new goals!

Good for you. 50lbs and 25″ is very impressive indeed. Amazing how we get the bug and turn our lives around. Been working really hard on my health and fitness goals so much so I decided to retrain and setup my own business – http://www.fitness-challenge.co.uk. All the best for 2012
