What a difference 16 years makes….

Most people think back to their youth and day dream fondly, wishing for those carefree days, their youthful skin and good looks.
I look back and think “wow, did I really look like that?” Now I’m not saying I was ugly in my teens, I was always told I was a pretty girl and had my fair share of attention from members of the opposite sex. I took good care of myself and my skin, went to the gym and ate as well as my obsessive nature allowed me to. But I really believe, that like a fine wine, I have grown better with age…
How different did you look in your teenage years? If you had the choice would you turn back the clock on your looks?
Not much has been going on lately, hence the lack of blog posts. I have a couple of partly written posts that I intend publishing in the next week or so for those that are still following along.
I was suffering with a shoulder injury for a few weeks which meant time off from the gym but I went back last week and am working my way up through the weights again. That 130kg deadlift *WILL* be mine in the next 4 weeks.
I bought a fabulous new dress for a romantic Valentine’s evening with my amazing boyfriend and I was so happy with how I looked – Jane Norman will most definitely be getting more business from me…
Anyone that is afraid of lifting heavy for fear it will make them look like a man, fear now – my hourglass curves are still very much present :-)
I’ll leave you with this picture of the awesome gluten free, blueberry pancakes that I made for pancake day…
If anyone wants the recipe, let me know and I’ll post it.

Mmmmmm yes please on the recipe! I tried out your banana and coconut ones and they were delish!! Mmmm mmmmm!

You looked lovely when you were 18 and now!
That dress looks fab on you xx
Totally agree! I also think I look much better now than as a teen. I was chubby, lazy, unhappy, and had zero dates. Today I often get compliments, and I’m happily married. Plus, I’m much fitter and healthier now. I often wish I could tell my younger self that everything will be fine in the end.
Yay you’re back! you have definitely get better with age. I think I have too – I do not hark back to my teenage years, I was a geek. Maybe when I was about 20 though and went a bit wild just before I met my husband though – I was very unhealthy but I was super slim! :)
LOVE the look of those pancakes – yum!
And also love that dress! x

I made a terrible teenager, I don’t think I settled into being ‘me’ until I hit 17/18 and I think that had a lot to do with why I felt so terrible! I certainly like me a lot more these days and I feel that I look better now at (almost) 33 than I did at 19.
You look amazing in that dress, curves to die for. Good girl. :)
You are equally as lovely in both pics – but you exude happiness & confidence in the more recent pic. You are glowing :-)
I agree, i was reasonably fit as a young teenager but excess young adulthood caught up with me and after university I put on a lot of weight. I decided to do something positive and took time out to study to be a personal trainer (complete change!)
These days Im fitter than ever and love my life. I give lots of handy hint and tips for weight loss and other fitness goals on Twitter and Facebook
