I started this blog in 2009 to document my weight loss. I was going on holiday and wanted to get in shape and finally try and overcome my food demons once and for all.
I reached my goal weight on June 25th 2009 after losing 50lb and 25″.
Unfortunately, I re-gained a lot of my weight over the course of 2010. I trained for a half marathon which was totally different to the heavy weight training I had been doing and though my nutrition was monitored carefully, over the months of training, I gained almost a stone. Once my half marathon was over, I was in limbo for a while. I loved running but hated what it did to my physique and longed for the lean, firm body I had previously. However, circumstances in my personal life were getting worse which led to the breakdown of my marriage, which resulted in some emotional eating and led to gaining even more weight.
In February 2011 I started researching different ways of eating and stumbled upon the Paleo/Primal way of eating. I read all I could on the subject for a few weeks until I decided I had nothing to lose by giving it a try. So, on March 13th 2011 I ditched the grains, most dairy, legumes and sugar and a new style of eating was born.
Two weeks into paleo/primal eating, I wanted to try my hand at intermittent fasting and it’s the most liberating thing I have ever done. As a previous food obsessive with a history of ED’s it’s the single best thing I have ever done for my health, both physical and mental.

There is around 3 and a half months in between those sets of pictures which just goes to show how much progress you can make in a short space of time. The time is going to pass anyway, so why not make the most of it?
